VFF’s Hanoi Committee Chairwoman Nguyen Lan Huong extends Christmas greetings to Hung Hoa Diocese in Son Tay Town

 Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Hanoi Committee Nguyen Lan Huong visited and extended Christmas greetings to Hung Hoa Diocese in Son Tay Town on December 19. Chairwoman Huong along with leaders of Son Tay Town congratulated the new  bishop of Hung Hoa Diocese Hoang Minh Tien on receiving the appointment decision, stressing that this is an important event for the bishop himself and parishioners of the diocese during the Christmas.

 

She wished Catholic dignitaries and followers a merry Christmas and happy New Year.

 

The VFF official briefed the  bishop and dignitaries on the city’s outstanding achievements in 2021.

 

According to Huong, despite the COVID-19 severe impacts, Hanoi has maintained its socio-economic development. More efforts have been made to ensure social welfare.

 

She attributed the outcomes to the support from all-level authorities and people of Son Tay town, especially the Catholic community, in consolidating the great national unity bloc.

 

The current COVID-19 situation is complicated and unpredictable, she noted, hoping that the Catholic dignitaries and followers will continue strictly abiding by pandemic prevention and control measures in line with the Government’s stance of safe and flexible adaptation to the pandemic.

 

In reply,  Bishop of Hung Hoa Diocese Hoang Minh Tien expressed his thanks to the VFF’s municipal Committee Chairwoman Nguyen Lan Huong and leaders of the town for their attention to the dignitaries and followers on Christmas.

 

He highlighted the effort of the municipal authorities in pandemic prevention and control work.

 

The  diocese’s dignitaries and local Catholics will continue following the Party and State’s guidelines, and strengthening national solidarity and developing the capital.

 

On the occasion, Chairwoman of the VFF’s Hanoi Committee Nguyen Lan Huong presented gifts worth VND1 million each to 20 parishioners’ households coping with difficulties due to the pandemic.
