SEOUL, Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres has shaken off a hand injury to reach base safely three times. Kim went 0-for-1 with three walks in the Padres' 5-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park in San Diego on Monday (local time). This was the first time since April 15 that Kim has been on base at least three times in a game. Kim exited Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers early after taking a pitch by Dodgers starter Walker Buehler to his left hand. Kim stayed in the game and was forced out at second base to end the bottom of the fourth, and was lifted for a defensive replacement at shortstop to begin the top of the fifth. Kim had his left wrist and forearm area wrapped in a compression sleeve after that game but reported feeling better than when the ball had first struck him. And Kim didn't end up missing any game, as he batted ninth and started at shortstop Monday. He is now batting .207, but his on-base percentage jumped from .316 to .326. He leads the Padres with 26 walks. He is t ied for fourth in the National League in that category. Despite being on base three times, Kim did not score a run.
