ONCB seals off Ayutthaya area, arrests suspects with methamphetamine pills

The Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 1, together with partners, continue to hunt down drug dealers, carpet-bombing and searching 16 districts of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, arresting 83 suspects along with 2,894 methamphetamine pills as evidence and seizing assets worth a total of 1,098,780 baht. Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanurat Lakboon, Secretary-General of the Narcotics Control Board, assigned Ms. Jiraphan Kanchanapradit, Director of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 1, to join the operation 'Operation to Cut Off the Wings of Small-time Dealers, No. 2/67' in the Central Region, the target province of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, with Pol. Maj. Gen. Chotiwat Luengwilai, Commander of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, Deputy Commanders of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, and representatives of relevant government agencies. 83 suspects were arrested, 2,894 methamphetamine pills, 6 firearms, 68 rounds of ammunition, 1 explosive device, and assets worth a total of 1,098,780 baht were seized. The Director of ONCB Region 1 said that this operation is an urgent policy of the government to integrate the solution of drug problems within 3 months (1 June - 31 August 2024) under the order of the committee to monitor and accelerate the work of prevention, suppression and solution of drug problems, chaired by Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, who urged local agencies in every province to solve the drug problem seriously and decisively. The goal of this operation is in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, a total of 107 targets in 16 districts, focusing on preventing the spread of drugs from drug dealers in villages and communities, as well as expanding the results to arrest major dealers in the area, as well as searching for drug users to enter the treatment process. Later, Ms. Jiraphan, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Chotiwat Luengwilai, Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, Deputy Commanders, and Police Station Superintendents in Phra Nakhon Si A yutthaya Province, attended a meeting to summarize the results of the operation 'Operation to Cut Off the Wings of Small-time Traders, 2nd Time'.
