Hanoi welcomes 300,000 tourists in November

– Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Hanoi received around 300,0000 domestic tourists in November, a decrease of 56% over the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism. Total tourism revenue was estimated to reach VND844 billion, down 50.5% year-on-year.

 

During the Jan-Nov period, the capital city welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors and earned VND9.03 trillion from tourist activities.

 

From November 1 to 17, Thu Le park greeted 18,000 visitors, the Museum of Ethnology and Tan Da tourist site each received around 1,000 visitors, while 25,000 tourists went to the Ba Vi National Park.

 

In the first eleven months of this year, Hanoi’s average occupancy rate of hotel was about 21.5%, posting a 7.6% year-on-year decline.

 

As of November, Hanoi has allowed 23 local hotels, with a total of 2,640 rooms and 4,253 beds to host quarantine facilities for people who have been in contact with COVID-19 patients in the city.

 

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the capital city has made effort to stimulate tourism recovery in line with guidelines for “Safe and flexible adaptation and effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
