A generous contractor has sculpted over 300 white painted figures of angels, birds and sema stones to be used as decorations on the walls of Wat Mai Chong Lom in Uttaradit Province, using all of his own money. He revealed that he grew up in the temple and wanted to do something useful for it, and he also teaches interested villagers for free. Mr. Kittikanin Chuwirasiri, 62 years old, a construction contractor from Ban Pa Tan, Chiang Mai Province, is rushing to paint the 80-centimeter-high stucco angel statues, as well as the stucco bird and sema leaf statues, totaling more than 300 pieces, which he did all by himself, from molding to painting. They will be used to decorate the walls of Wat Mai Chong Lom, Tambon Ngio Ngam, Amphoe Mueang, Uttaradit Province, which is his hometown temple where he has lived since he was a child, using all of his own money. Each piece costs no less than 500 baht, totaling hundreds of thousands of baht. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year. After that, he will us e them to decorate the walls himself, doing it gradually, not rushing, as a way to practice meditation. In the past, he has done this at many temples, mostly on high mountains in Tak Province. Mr. Kittikanin said that he grew up with the temple. When he has the financial resources and uses his personal abilities, it is beneficial to the temple. He is 62 years old and cannot do nothing. He has to find something to do.
