Fire extinguishing equipment inspection in Yaowarat area found to be within standard criteria

General

Yaowarat, Bangkok inspects fire extinguishing equipment in Yaowarat area, finds it meets standards, and coordinates with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority to plan to immediately cut off power when there is a fire. Assoc. Prof. Thawida Kamolvech, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, inspected the red water supply points in the Phad Sai community, Samphanthawong district. The community is located next to Wat Samphanthawong. There are 2 red water supply points in the community: 1. Phad Sai entrance, which is an above-ground fire hydrant. 2. Soi Wanit 1, which is an underground fire hydrant. The distance between the red water supply point on Phad Sai road and the community is 132.7 meters, while the distance between Soi Wanit 1 and the community is 75.5 meters. In addition, there is another red water supply point buried underground near the community on Soi Wanit 1, 94 meters from the community. The fire extinguishers installed in Phad Sai community, which are 15 portable fire extinguishers, have been inspected. Al l of them have QR CODE stickers showing the location of the fire extinguishers on the Bangkok risk map. The inspection found that the fire extinguishers of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the fire extinguishers of the Bangkok Council members of Samphanthawong district are all in usable condition. However, the district will inspect the number of fire extinguishers again because some areas have additional installations. Some places have been put into use. For the Phad Sai community, there is an area of ??1.15 rai, 75 households, and a population of 230 people. If calculated according to the Bangkok standard, 1 fire extinguisher per 5 households is considered to be within the standard. The Deputy Governor of Bangkok has assigned the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office to coordinate with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority to cut off electricity when a fire occurs. This is because cutting off electricity in some areas cannot completely cut off the entire area. Power must be cut off at specif ic points in the area where the fire occurs. In addition, cutting off electricity must take into account bedridden patients who are receiving treatment at home. The district must compile information on bedridden patients in the area. As for the red water supply, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office has assigned the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority to specify the coordinates of the red water supply in the Bangkok risk map system, including both above-ground fire hydrants and underground fire hydrants. However, there are still some underground fire hydrants that are not in the system. This part must be completed, including considering ways to install signs at points with underground fire hydrants that are clearly visible. Cooperation is requested not to place objects that obstruct the red water supply, which is the point where fire hydrants are received. On this occasion, the Deputy Governor of Bangkok inspected the joint command center for disaster relief and donation points for items from the fire incident in the Trok Pho community, and gave encouragement to the disaster victims, workers and volunteers at the center.
