EGCO Group joins Creative Nakhon Festival in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

EGCO Group, by Khanom Power Plant Learning Center, invites youth and southern people to experience an exhibition telling the story of preserving the historical and architectural value of the 'Floating Power Plant' in the '6th Creative Nakhon Festival' at Borworn Nakhon, Tha Wang area, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Ms. Pinthusuda Piampiti, Corporate and Social Affairs Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), revealed that EGCO Group places importance on promoting energy and environmental learning among youths, as well as sustainable coexistence with communities, society, and the environment in the area. It has developed Khanom Power Plant Unit 1, which is a floating power plant that has ceased commercial operation, into the Khanom Power Plant Learning Center, which has been open to visitors since 2019. The center's design and development process takes into account the preservation of the history of being the first and only floa ting power plant in Thailand by maintaining the architecture of both the building and the area inside the power plant, which is industrial in nature, while still maintaining its own value and being able to creatively convey knowledge about electric power through multimedia and modern techniques endlessly. 'EGCO Group, through the Khanom Power Plant Learning Center, has co-organized the exhibition booth and supported activities in the 6th Creative Nakhon Festival to introduce the Learning Center as a source of inspiration for science for the youth and a tourist attraction that drives the creative economy and creates pride for Khanom residents, as well as promoting community strength and demonstrating creative power from local historical resources to drive sustainable growth of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, reflecting EGCO Group's concept of developing and growing together with communities and society in every area where it operates,' said Ms. Phinthusuda. Khanom Power Plant Learning Center's activities in th e 6th Creative Nakhon Festival, held from 25 - 28 July 2024, 10.00 - 21.00 hrs. at Borworn Nakhon, Tha Wang area, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, include exhibitions and science experiments by the Learning Center, as well as a seminar on the topic "Old buildings have value, leading to a creative economy" on Saturday, 27 July 2024, 17.00 - 18.00 hrs. Within this festival, the Thai Rak Pa Foundation, a charitable organization established by EGCO Group and supporting operations in the conservation and restoration of watershed forests and biodiversity in important watershed forest areas of Thailand for over 22 years, also joined a booth to display and sell products from the Thai Rak Pa Village Project, including 'Rapo Grass Brooms,' a handicraft product combining rattan weaving, conveying the idea of ??coexistence between people and forests, from the Ban Na Tham community in Surat Thani Province. -511-Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agency
