BYD opens grand car manufacturing plant in Thailand

BYD and Reve Automotive Co., Ltd., the official distributor and after-sales service provider of BYD electric vehicles in Thailand under the Reve business group, officially opened the BYD Thailand factory at WHA Industrial Estate, Rayong Province, aiming to launch 100% electric vehicles and additional plug-in hybrid vehicles, and pushing Thailand to become the center of electric vehicles in ASEAN. This plant will be a production base for right-hand drive electric vehicles to serve the domestic market and export to other ASEAN countries. It is another important step in BYD's global expansion strategy, reflecting its commitment to the Southeast Asian market and the government's policy to promote domestic electric vehicle production to achieve the goal of 30% EV production of all vehicles by 2030. On this occasion, BYD delivered the 8 millionth new energy vehicle, the BYD DOLPHIN, to the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and sustainable transportation. This BYD automobile factory covers an area of ??over 948,000 square meters and took only 16 months to build since the groundbreaking ceremony. It comes with the concept of energy saving and low carbon, complete with automatic machinery, environmentally friendly production processes, and advanced logistics management systems. It covers 4 steps of vehicle production: forming, welding, painting, and assembly. All of this is to produce high-quality and standard electric vehicles for the Thai market. The factory has a maximum production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles per year, including BYD DOLPHIN, BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEAL, and BYD SEALION 6, as well as being able to produce important parts such as batteries and powertrains. In the future, when the factory is fully operational, it is expected to create over 10,000 jobs. In the future, BYD plans to launch more 100% electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles in Thailand.
