Bangkok, The Football Association of Thailand announced the results of the selection of the host of the 50th King's Cup at the FA Thailand Awards 2023/24. The results showed that Songkhla Province, which passed the most qualifications, was selected as the host province by the committee set up by the association. The King's Cup Football Tournament is the oldest international football cup in Asia. The 50th tournament will be held under the FIFA Day calendar between 7-15 October 2024. Each team will compete in two matches in a knockout format: the semi-finals and the final. Every match will be an International 'A' Match and the results will be used to calculate the FIFA rankings. There are 3 provinces that have offered to be the hosts: Chiang Rai, Songkhla and Chiang Mai. Before the committee considers Songkhla as the most ready, it will use Tinsulanont Stadium to organize the competition with a capacity of 20,000 seats (Seat). This competition has 4 countries that have officially accepted to join the compet ition, consisting of the Thai national team (host), ranked 101st in the world, the Syrian national team, ranked 93rd in the world, the Tajikistan national team, ranked 103rd in the world and the champion in 2022, and the Philippines national team, ranked 147th in the world. It will be broadcasted live on Thairath TV HD Channel 32. As for the pairings, there will be a draw and will be announced again. For Songkhla Province, it is the second southern province to have the right to host the King's Cup football tournament, following Phuket Province.
